Sometimes dad has his day too!

Sometimes dad has his day too!

Last night was one of those great nights that reminded me of why I love this hobby. We had a club race at our local track here PRCR, and a wonderful thing happened. A dad, who’s son is one of the really great racers in the northwest, won the SC Stock race. I know what you are thinking….. who cares! Well, apparently almost everyone at the track did. Mike Nealeigh, is one of those racers that for whatever reason, just doesn’t seem to win much. In fact, he is just like me. He just keeps coming to race for the fun of it, knowing that he will never be one of the top racers. In reality, this is most of us anyway. We ALL went to the track side and started cheering. You could just feel everyone willing Mike to win. He was laughing and joking as he was racing, just like he always does. In the end, he won the race and a huge round of applause erupted, as well as laughter and pats on his back. It was just a tuesday night club race, and yet this is the reason most of us come back week after week. You just never know when a dad is going to have his day!!!! Great race...
